Superior's Chili & Beer Fest is coming in hot to celebrate the event's 25th anniversary! Join the community for a day of delicious chili, cold beverages and fun with your friends and family.
This year's event is on Sept. 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Community Park (1350 Coalton Road). It features family-friendly fun, including live music from Mono Verde Collective and Erica Brown Entertainment, games and activities for kids and adults, local vendors and, of course, chili, beer and more!
General entry to Chili & Beer Fest is free and includes unlimited chili-flavored food samples while supplies last.
You'll need tickets for the Rotary Club of Boulder Valley's Beer Fest, as well as for VIP admission, hosted by the Superior Chamber of Commerce. Purchase your tickets today!

Ready Together drill on Sept. 19 helps families prepare for emergencies
In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Town of Superior's Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Department is hosting a three-part Ready Together: Community Alert Drill in mid-September.
This family-friendly preparedness event helps households practice what to do in a real emergency and includes three parts:

- Ready Together Drill

Celebrate creativity and community at inaugural Superior Mural Festival on Oct. 4
Creativity meets community at the inaugural Superior Mural Festival!
Join the Town of Superior and Boulder's Street Wise Arts on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. as Downtown Superior transforms into an open-air art gallery. Talented artists will bring blank walls to life with colorful designs exploring the theme of nature and regrowth.
Enjoy an afternoon of artist exhibits, mural tours, live painting, music from Carlos and the Crew & Drunken Hearts, arts vendors, food, and fun, held in conjunction with Superior's Fall Market.

Ahead of the festival, on Thursday, Oct. 1, join us from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Downtown Superior Plaza (2250 Main St.) to meet the Superior Mural Festival artist lineup!
Artists will introduce themselves to the community and discuss their artistic practices and mural designs. The event is free, but registration is required.

BCycle e-bike share arrives in Superior
BCycle e-bike share is now available in Superior, giving residents a convenient new option for traveling to local destinations and connecting to the regional e-bike network.
The new public bike share program includes 20 Class 1 electric-assist bikes and 38 individual bike docks located at several stations throughout Superior, including Founders Park, Community Park, Superior Civic Space, and Superior Commons Park. Riders can use the BCycle app to find a nearby bike, unlock it, and start riding.

Follow the 2027 budget process
Superior Town Council will review the proposed 2027 budget in a meeting at Town Hall (124 E. Coal Creek Drive) on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to follow along, review the budget documents and attend upcoming meetings.

Superior's historical sites open on Sept. 5
Explore Superior's history on Saturday, Sept. 5, when volunteers from the Historical Commission open three historical sites to all residents interested in learning more about the community's past.
Asti Park Historical Museum

Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Learn about the community's mining heritage and life in the mine camp houses. Plus, experience a small area dedicated to Marshall Fire objects and photographs.

Grasso Park Interim Historical Museum

Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Explore Superior's agricultural roots through photographs, objects, and artifacts, and step outside the museum into Grasso Park to see the 1895 Hake Homestead House, barn, privy, root cellar, and historic farm equipment.

Superior Historical Cemetery
2580 Central Park Way
Open 9 to 11 a.m. (weather permitting)
The cemetery, established in 1873, features interpretive signs, benches, and a trail system. Approximately 90 former residents are interred there, including two Civil War veterans.

Public Works and Utilities
Superior Community Center project underway
The Superior Community Center remains closed while crews repair drainage and foundation issues.
The work, expected to conclude in early November, protects the building for years to come. The closure ensures safety and efficiency for the crews.
Most programs and events will continue at the Superior Civic Space, 2250 Main St., Suite 1001.

Rock Creek Parkway construction continues from Enterprise Street to Coalton Road
Rock Creek Parkway construction will continue through October.
Work between South Indiana Street and South 88th Street is substantially complete, and the contractor is now reconstructing Rock Creek Parkway from Enterprise Street to Coalton Road.
Crews are currently working on the northbound lanes of Rock Creek Parkway between the Safeway entrance and Enterprise Street. Two-way traffic is open on the opposite side of the road. This phase is expected to conclude on Friday, Sept. 11. The contractor will then proceed with reconstructing the southbound lanes on the same stretch of road.
The remaining work includes full reconstruction of Rock Creek Parkway, curb-and-gutter improvements, upgraded sidewalks, and enhanced bike and pedestrian facilities from Enterprise Street to Coalton Road. The right-turn pockets at the intersection of Coalton Road and Rock Creek Parkway will have raised crosswalks to improve safety.

Join the Superior Veterans Group for Sept. 1 meeting
The Superior Veterans Group (SVG) is seeking veterans, active-duty service members, Blue Star and Gold Star family members, and supporters to join new activities with a renewed focus on supporting and serving Superior's local veteran community.
If you're a veteran or associated with the military, the group could use your help and knowledge to identify how best to move forward. All ideas and thoughts are welcome!
The SVG will next meet on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the conference room on the second floor in the Blue Sport Stable at 1 Superior Drive in Downtown Superior.
Future ideas and efforts include:
- Review activities from National Night Out on Aug. 4
- Plan Chili & Beer Fest and Veterans Day activities
- Long-term objectives, organizational status, activities, and budget

Section of Meadowlark Trail closed Sept. 7 through Nov. 7
A portion of the Meadowlark Trail at Coalton Trailhead will temporarily close on Monday, Sept. 7, for cattle grazing. The closed section starts at the Coalton Trailhead (3495 McCaslin Blvd.) and runs north toward the Oerman-Roche Trailhead, highlighted in red on the map below.
Trail users can access the crusher fine trail on the east side of McCaslin Boulevard to get between the Coalton Trailhead and the Oerman-Roche Trailhead. Coalton Trail and all other trails remain open during this time.
This section of the Meadowlark Trail will remain closed through Saturday, Nov. 7. Visit Boulder County's website for more information, including an instructional video demonstrating how to use the detour.

Monster Mash is back and better than ever!
Calling all ghosts, goblins, and ghouls!
The Town of Superior is brewing up even more fun for this year's spooktacular Monster Mash party. Join the Superior Youth Leadership Council on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Downtown Superior for this free, family-friendly event at the Superior Civic Space.
Make crafts, play games, and enjoy a Trick-or-Treat Street along Main Street. Plus, dress to impress for the annual costume contest! While prizes are reserved for our youngest costumed creatures, everyone is encouraged to join the fun by dressing up. After all, you’re never too old to have a gourd time!

Disaster Preparedness and Recovery
Warning sirens to be tested on Sept. 7
As part of Boulder County's new year-round testing schedule, Superior's outdoor emergency warning sirens will be tested on Monday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m.
Please be aware that there are two sirens in Town, one located in Superior's Community Park and the other in Original Town on Coal Creek Drive. The outdoor emergency sirens are designed to alert people who are outside in nearby areas and are not intended to be heard indoors.

Boulder County Sheriff's Office introduces new siren and terminology
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is rolling out updates to the county's emergency alert and warning system, including the introduction of a patrol vehicle Hi/Lo evacuation siren and new standardized terminology designed to make evacuation instructions clearer and faster to understand during life-threatening emergencies.
Remember: When you hear Hi/Lo, it's time to go!
The Hi/Lo siren is a distinct two-tone alert used only when immediate evacuation is necessary. Law enforcement will activate the patrol vehicle's siren while driving through impacted neighborhoods to notify residents directly, even when cell service, internet connectivity, or power is disrupted.
The Hi/Lo siren does not replace existing alert tools; it adds a reliable, on-the-ground method to reach people during fast-moving emergencies.
When residents hear the Hi/Lo siren:
- Evacuate immediately
- Follow instructions from responders
- Monitor official alerts
- Don’t wait for confirmation if conditions worsen

The Town is updating its 2019 Water Conservation Plan, and community input is an important part of the process.
The Water Conservation Plan survey offers an opportunity to share your thoughts on water conservation in Superior. Feedback will help inform the Town’s conservation programs and strategies, and all survey responses will be considered as part of the final 2026 plan.

Re-spook, re-scare, and re-wear! Donate costumes through Sept. 30
Give your old costumes a second life with a Halloween costume exchange! Through Sept. 30, the Town of Superior and City of Louisville are collecting gently used, unwanted Halloween costumes for all ages.
Drop off costumes at the Superior Civic Space, 2500 Main St., Suite 1001, or the Louisville Public Library, 951 Spruce St.
The Halloween Costume Exchange will be held Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Louisville Public Library. Costumes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Any costumes left after the event will be donated to the Sister Carmen Thrift Store.

Colorado Tariff Navigation Program helps businesses adapt
The World Trade Center Denver and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade have launched the Colorado Tariff Navigation Program to help businesses adapt to changing global trade policies.
The program offers expert-led webinars and subsidized one-on-one consulting for Colorado importers, exporters and manufacturers. Eligible businesses can receive up to $1,000 in support to assess tariff exposure, improve compliance, reduce costs and strengthen supply chains.

Sundance Short Term Rental Information
Superior's Town Manager has declared a special event festival period for the Sundance Film Festival, taking place Jan. 21-31, 2027.
Individuals may apply for the Festival Short Term Rental license from Jan. 11 through Feb. 10 (10 days before and 10 days after the festival period), for no longer than a total of 29 days per license.
