Superior Historical Museum, Superior Cemetery and More Resources

MuseumThe Superior Historical Museum opened its doors to the public in February of 2010. The Historical Commission along with the Town of Superior spent nearly four years to rehabilitate the home that once stood during the 1920s and 1930s in the Industrial Mine Camp, on the hillside just south of Original Town.

The Historical Museum has long been a source of Superior’s history for residents and patrons alike. Unfortunately, the museum was destroyed in the Marshall Fire. Town staff is currently exploring possibilities of rebuilding the museum.

In the meantime, the Commission welcomes those of you with young children to print a copy of the Living in Superior, Colorado coloring book(PDF, 656KB) for free!

Also, an in depth look at the history of the Town can be found by viewing past issues of the Superior Historian, a once quarterly publication produced by members of the Historical Commission, and information about the Town of Superior Historic Cemetery(PDF, 137KB). Visits to the cemetery are not recommended at this time due to construction. For more information or to request special permission to access the cemetery, located at 2580 Central Park Way, please call 303-499-3675 or the Historical Commission directly.
