Transportation

The Town of Superior is responsible for maintaining 50 miles of streets, which includes pavement re-surfacing, snow removal, traffic signals, street sweeping, school zone flashers, signage and striping.

The Roadway Ownership Map shows which streets are owned and maintained by the Town, a private entity, or CDOT.

The 2025 Transportation Plan(PDF, 20MB) is a long-range planning document designed to guide the development of a safe, efficient, and connected transportation system for all users - whether walking, biking, driving, or using transit. Last updated in 2014, the 2025 version of the Transportation Plan builds upon the past 11 years of transportation projects in Superior and aligns with community goals related to mobility, sustainability, and economic development.

The Town Council has adopted the Superior Vision Zero Action Plan(PDF, 71MB). Vision Zero is a comprehensive strategy to improve road safety by focusing on system design, data-driven decision-making, and equitable community engagement. The Plan outlines a series of actionable steps for transportation safety improvements Town-wide as well as improvements for specific locations.

Snow Removal

Superior maintains contracts for snow removal and uses a tiered system to determine priorities for snow removal. Easily Report Street Light Outages to Xcel Energy

The majority of the 800+ street lights within the Town of Superior are maintained by Xcel Energy. To report a street light outage or damaged pole please make note of the 6-digit number on the pole or the nearest address and report directly to Xcel using their Street Light Outage Reporting Tool.

Street lights that are owned by the Town will have a 3-letter, 3-number code on the pole. Report these outages using Superior Click and Fix.
