The Town's Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP) implements engineering, education, and enforcement to slow speeding traffic on residential streets. The NTCP is administered by the Public Works & Utilities Department in conjunction with the Transportation & Safety Committee (TSC).
Town staff accepts NTCP applications year-round and evaluates them on an annual basis. Familiarize yourself with the NTCP guidelines and review process by viewing the NTCP checklist and submit an application to staff for review, or contact us if you have any questions.
A traffic calming application was received in October 2024 from residents along W. Torreys Peak, expressing concerns about vehicle speeds and pedestrian safety along W. Torreys Peak near Mica Court. Staff collected speed data in December 2024 and held a public meeting for residents on Dec. 17, 2024 (Public Meeting Presentation(PPTX, 5MB)). Speed data and staff recommendations were presented to the Transportation Safety Committee (TSC) during the March 2025 meeting. The TSC decided to install a pedestrian crossing sign in the crosswalk near Mica Court, asked the Sheriff to enforce speeds on the W Torreys Peak, and asked staff to look at removing the ped crossing near Mica Court and install an ADA compliant crossing closer to Wildflower Park.
