Superior Civic Space

The Superior Civic Space is open to the public and located in Downtown Superior at 2250 Main St. It offers a convenient place to hang out, work or host small gatherings, and acts as the hub for downtown events.

History

The Town engaged Collab Architecture in July of 2023 to work with residents, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee (PARC), the Cultural Arts and Public Spaces (CAPS) advisory committee, Superior Youth Leadership Council (SYLC), the Town Board, and staff on the design for the interior of the Civic Space facility in Downtown Superior. A public survey was conducted through Shape Superior in February of 2024 to gather input on needs and wants for this space.

The Town Board provided feedback on several design concepts at the Sept. 18, 2023, work session, with guidance to keep the spaces flexible and to maximize the larger event space on the second floor.

The Town selected Dohn Construction to complete the interior tenant finishes, including floor and ceiling finishes, lighting, acoustical applications, construction of interior walls, windows, and doors, and subsequent changes to mechanical and plumbing systems. The resulting floor plan offers general open space for gathering, seating areas, two studio/activity/classroom spaces, a large event space upstairs that can be divided with an operable wall, catering staging area, storage, conference room, staff offices, and reception area. Rent the Event Space (non-profits and events)

We’re excited to announce the opening of our new event space, located in the brand-new Civic Space. Flexibly designed to accommodate roughly 400 people and a wide range of events—from recitals and classes to conferences, corporate gatherings and nonprofit celebrations.

Whether you're planning a formal event or a casual meeting, our space is ready to support your purpose. The rental rate for the space is $150/hour (for residents), and includes use of our spacious main event area, an adjacent conference room and lobby. Equipment available to support your gathering includes:

  • 50 folding chairs & 12 conference tables (24”x71”)
  • Portable stage & basic sound system (Advanced programming available for an additional fee)
  • 8 café-style tables or high tops (42” tall – stools/chairs not included)
  • Basic projector & 60” smart TV on mobile cart
  • Catering staging kitchen – perfect for food service setups (Note: not certified for food prep/cooking)
