Town Council Meeting

Aug. 25

During Monday’s Town Council meeting, the Council: held a joint dinner with the Cultural Arts and Public Spaces Advisory Committee; heard presentations and held discussions regarding electric bikes in Town and the landscape fee fund rate study; made appointments to the Superior Youth Leadership Council; continued the public hearing (second reading) and approved an ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Superior Municipal Code to add a new Article 11 regarding contractor licensing; approved an ordinance amending Chapter 11 of the Superior Municipal Code to update Article 2 regarding the warranty period for work performed in the public right-of-way; approved a contract extension with Triton Snow Removal for the 2025-2026 snow removal season; continued a public hearing and approved a resolution amending the 2025 Town of Superior budget; and approved the final design for the renovation of Community Park Playground.


Cultural Arts and Public Spaces Advisory Committee Meeting

Aug. 28

In the August Cultural Arts and Public Spaces (CAPS) Committee meeting, the committee first welcomed Ardyce Lebewitz as its newest
member. Staff presented updates on new Superior Art & History coloring books, graffiti on the community park bollards, and the status of the Rock Creek Parkway mural to be painted in late September. The committee then heard the status of the Marshall Fire Remembrance RFQ, followed by debriefs on the CAPS-Council dinner from Sept. 25 and the celebrated "Symphony of Motion" Superior Pairing held on Sept. 26. The committee then discussed ongoing projects including future mural painting, plaques for existing artwork, and utilization of digital assets in the Community Center and Civic Space. Finally, the committee had a lengthy discussion on candidates for artwork acquisition and placement before the end of 2025.
