Project Updates
Rock Creek Parkway
As Rock Creek Parkway and many other construction projects continue around Town, please visit SuperiorColorado.gov/ProjectUpdates to keep up to date with the most recent developments.
Construction has moved to the northbound lanes of Rock Creek Parkway between Enterprise Street and Coalton Road and is expected to last until Sept 11. Two-way traffic is maintained on the south half of Rock Creek Parkway through the construction area. Please note that the northbound RTD 228A stops at Rock Creek Village/Bell Flatirons and Honey Creek Drive will be closed during this closure.
This week (Aug. 23 to Aug 29)
Concrete work, including sidewalk repairs and curb and gutter repairs is in progress. Asphalt milling was completed and the box culvert of Rock Creek has been exposed such that the waterproof membrane can be applied. All remaining striping from Indiana to S. 88th Street was completed.
Next week (Aug. 30 to Sept. 5)
Concrete work will be completed. New waterproofing will be installed over the Rock Creek underpass. Subgrade fly ash treatment will be completed. Paving of the roadway surface will start the following week.
Superior Community Center Construction
The Superior Community Center, 1500 Coalton Road, is a vital gathering place for residents to connect, learn, and participate in community activities. To address drainage and foundation concerns and protect the building for years to come, the Town has begun essential repairs.
The facility is closed while crews work to ensure safety and efficiency. Work on underground storm sewer lines and inlets is underway. Excavation for the structural work on the south side of the building will begin Monday, along with work on the underdrain on the west side. For project details, visit the Town's project webpage or review the Frequently Asked Questions for more information about the closure, temporary program locations, parking, reservations and Community Center services during construction.
North Pool Renovation Begins
North Pool’s final day of the 2026 swim season was Sunday, August 23. This renovation will bring significant improvements to the facility, including: a new pool shell and deck, updated bath house, additional shade, a new zero-depth entry wading pool, and more efficient mechanical and sanitation systems.
The Town’s contractor, A.D. Miller, kicked off the project last week by mobilizing onsite. Construction fencing and barriers have installed around portions of the parking lot and work area to maintain a safe separation between the construction site and the surrounding community. Demolition will begin around September 9.
The contractor has left several parking spaces near the entrance to the lot available for tennis players, with a safe pedestrian route to the tennis courts along the construction fencing. Reminder: The North Pool parking lot will not be available for school drop-off during construction. Please follow posted signage and construction barriers and avoid entering restricted areas.
The Town will continue to provide weekly project updates throughout the construction phase, including information about project progress, upcoming activities, and any impacts to the surrounding community. Thank you for your patience as we work to transform North Pool into an improved, welcoming facility that the Superior community can enjoy for years to come!
