Join us tomorrow for the Community Park playground reopening event!
The Community Park playground renovation is complete, and it's time to celebrate!
Join the Town of Superior at Community Park (1350 Coalton Road) tomorrow, May 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. for the reopening event.
Commemorate the fully renovated playground, featuring all-new equipment and safety surfacing, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Plus, enjoy free popsicles, lemonade, and fun outdoor entertainment: chalk the sidewalks, hula-hoop, play in bubbles, and jump rope!
Save the date! The Town will host a special event to celebrate the grand opening of Central Park (2560 Central Park Way) on Sunday, June 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Join us for an honorary ribbon cutting, plus a free yoga session, face paint, fun games and activities, and sweet treats!

Splash into summer at Superior's pools
Summer is almost here, and Superior residents have two great options to beat the heat. The North Pool (1650 S. Indiana St.) and the South Pool (3300 Huron Peak Ave.) open for the season on May 22.
Pool admission is free for Superior residents, but a no-cost SplashPass is required to access the pools. Visit SuperiorColorado.gov/Pools for SplashPass details, pool schedules, swim lesson information, and more.

Superior Summer Market returns to Downtown Superior on May 20
After a successful first season, the Superior Summer Market series is back. Get ready for Main Street to transform into a bustling hub with local vendors, food trucks, and entertainment!
The market returns to Downtown Superior (2250 Main St.) on Wednesday, May 20, from 5 to 8 p.m. Expect convenience and community, with an assortment of shopping opportunities, delicious eats, and live music from the John McKay Band.

This summer, there are plenty of opportunities to shine as a Town volunteer.
Green Team Volunteers
Are you passionate about diverting trash? Are you dependable, reliable, and hardworking? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we encourage you to apply for our Green Team!
The Green Team is a dedicated group of volunteers who help advance the Town's sustainability efforts by guiding event attendees in using zero-waste stations at some of our biggest events, including the Summer Concert Series, 4th of July, and Chili & Beer Fest.
Here's how you can apply:
- Start your application through the Town of Superior Volunteer Registration and Release Form.
- Under the header labeled Green Team, select "yes" if you are interested in applying to be part of the Green Team. You will need to watch the training video, review the sustainability one-pager, and complete a couple of short knowledge check questions.
- Attend our brief in-person training on Monday, June 8 at 5 p.m. at the Superior Civic Space to pick up your T-shirt.
- Once all the steps above are complete, a Town staff member will provide the Green Team password so you can begin signing up for shifts.

Local author hosts reading at the SCC on June 10

Superior author Paul Lonnegren is offering a free reading of his new children's book, "Summer the Giant Flying Road Runner," to the community on Wednesday, June 10. Join Lonnegren and other local families from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at the Superior Civic Space!

Superior artists: Don't miss your chance to participate in the inaugural Superior Mural Festival
Are you looking to leave your mark on the Town? We have an exciting opportunity for all Superior artists!
Apply to participate in the inaugural Superior Mural Festival, and you might see your artwork around Downtown Superior.
The new festival, presented by Street Wise Arts in partnership with the Town, aims to activate Superior's public spaces, foster community pride, and support local artists. It will be held on Oct. 4 in Downtown Superior in conjunction with the Fall Festival and the final Summer Market of the season.
Boulder's Street Wise Arts collaborated with the Cultural Arts and Public Spaces Advisory Committee (CAPS) to select walls of varying sizes for the festival. The Town and CAPS selected a theme of nature and regrowth, encouraging artists to consider contemporary, unique, and creative approaches to the theme within their mural designs.

Outdoor lovers, we have great news! National Trails Day is back at the Coalton Trailhead (3495 McCaslin Blvd.) on Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Join the Open Space Advisory Committee for a free, family-friendly outdoor celebration!
Enjoy educational booths, goat feeding, live reptile demonstrations, horse-drawn carriage rides, a wildflower bonanza on the prairie (registration required), and more! Plus, the Town's Disaster Preparedness and Recovery department is partnering with Mountain View Fire Rescue on a Trail First Aid 101 course.

Two museums, one Superior history!
Ready to travel back in time without leaving town? Two historic sites in Superior will open their doors on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Visit the Asti Park Historical Museum (110 W. Maple St.) to learn about the community’s mining heritage, life in the mine camp houses, and a small area dedicated to Marshall Fire objects and photographs.
Then walk over to the Grasso Park Interim Historical Museum (122 E. William St.) to explore Superior’s agricultural roots through photographs, objects and artifacts.
Members of the Historical Commission will be on hand to share stories and answer questions. Don’t miss this chance to connect with Superior’s history firsthand!

Nature and Forest Therapy provides healing experience for Superior residents
The Town's Disaster Preparedness & Recovery team invites you to participate in a unique and restorative experience through the Nature and Forest Therapy program. This innovative approach to stress relief, healing, and resilience is rooted in the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or forest bathing.

Drum Circle invites community to make music together
Come experience the fun of community rhythm-making with a Drum Circle on Saturday, June 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Superior Civic Space Plaza (2250 Main St.).
No drumming or musical experience is necessary, and rental drums are available. In the case of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the Civic Space.

SCC summer room reservations open May 18; construction will impact some program locations
Summer room reservations at the Superior Community Center will open on May 18. Residents can book rooms at this community facility for use from June 22 through Aug. 2.
Please be aware that the Superior Community Center will undergo a drainage and structural improvement project later this summer. To complete this important work, the facility will be closed to the public beginning Aug. 3.
The Superior Civic Space will remain unaffected by this project, and select Community Center programs will begin moving to the Civic Space in June to prepare for the construction. If you are registered for a program or have a child in a summer camp, please double-check the location to ensure you go to the right location!
