Open Space Advisory Committee Meeting

Oct. 1

During the Oct. 1 OSAC meeting, members received public comment from Peter Rubrecht, who has been leading the town’s volunteer raptor program for the last seven years. He highlighted that 15 species of raptors were recorded this year, including two rare owl species. The town is hosting an Owls and Bats walk on Oct. 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and will meet at the basketball court in Community Park. On Sept. 22, the Town Council voted 6-1 against a measure to re-zone the Town 15 parcel from planned development to open space and recreation. Trustee Stephanie Miller fielded questions and concerns posed by OSAC members. The goats will be coming back to Superior in November! They will begin their fire mitigation work beginning approximately Nov. 22 at Autrey Park. Residents should stand by for future goat engagement opportunities! OSAC members finalized the 2025 Trail Evaluations document. This prioritized ranking of proposed trails in town serves as a tool to make recommendations to the Town Council for future projects. OSAC also completed its 2026 Work Plan and has submitted it to the Town Council for approval.
