On Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval to the Town Council for the Annexation and Zoning to Open Space-Natural, the property at 299 S. Third Ave. (the Colson Property), in a vote of 7 yeses and 0 nos.

Historical Commission Meeting

March 20

The Superior Historical Commission (SHC) Meeting held its monthly meeting on March 20. All members were present. Heather Cracraft served as Council representation. There was no public comment. The Commission heard a Staff presentation from Mikaela Gregg, Events & Volunteer Manager, detailing updates to the Advisory Group Guidebook.

The agenda was revised to bring Staff Updates up in the agenda in which the Q1 Budget Report was discussed along with additional details on the barn door repair status. General Updates and Debriefing focused on updates related to the open museum days, History Colorado Affiliates, and a desire to frame and properly display a recent donation (the Drumm’s map). The SHC is also being recognized by the Heritage Roundtable in a May ceremony for its work in the reconstruction of the destroyed mine camp house in Asti Park. There were three planned votes in Discussion Items which focused on the Spring Program final planning details and honorarium and finalizing utensil display board and purchase, with both of these passing unanimously. A third vote for a small upright shelf to display typewriters was tabled.
