Federal signal modulator for new siren upgrade

Superior’s Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Department has partnered with Boulder County and neighboring municipalities to bring a new emergency siren system to the community.

The new warning sirens were purchased using federal grant dollars and feature new technology that delivers clearer messaging.

As part of the installation process, the sirens will be tested, and residents may hear the message: “This is a test of the outdoor warning system. This is only a test.” Superior’s tests are scheduled for Sept. 11 and Sept. 15, though dates may shift depending on installation progress.

Learn more about the project in this Boulder County press release.
