New three cart waste program kicks off in March

Three sizes of garbage carts at the Superior Community Center

The Town of Superior’s new “three cart program” will provide many residents access to three separate carts for waste: garbage, recycling, and compost.

The new Town contract with Republic Services will be starting March 31. Residents who live in neighborhoods serviced by the Town need to pick out their new carts by Feb. 15 so that Republic can place cart orders and deliver your requested sizes prior to service. Residents on the Town contract should be on the lookout for a service calendar and a postcard in their mailbox with service and cart choice information.

Town waste hauling service is currently provided for residents of Original Town, Sagamore, The Ridge, Coal Creek Crossing, Downtown Superior, Calmante, Lanterns, Autrey Shores, and Rogers Farm.

The service changes do not impact Rock Creek, the Summit at Rock Creek, Saddlebrooke, or multifamily residents. More neighborhoods will be added to the Town contract in the future.

Residents can mix and match cart sizes for all three waste streams. A set of garbage cans in each size is at Town Hall and the Superior Community Center for reference. The cost customers will pay ranges from $19.14 a month to $42.02 a month, based on garbage cart size. Any size recycling and compost cart is included in the cost.

If you live in a Town-serviced neighborhood, please email or call Nicole at Republic at NMontoya@republicservices.com or 720-760-0849 to place your cart size selection order.

Want to see the bins and speak to someone in person? Our Sustainability Team and Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability (ACES) members will be available to answer questions during several drop-in open house events at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road):

If a resident does not pick their cart sizes by the Feb. 15 deadline, they will receive the following carts: 65-gallon trash, 95-gallon recycling and 35-gallon compost. No cart changes will be allowed after the deadline until May 1, 2025, to allow each resident to receive carts and service to begin. After service begins, Republic customers can switch cart sizes up to three times per year for free to find the right service level for their household. Republic will deliver your selected new bins the week of March 24 and Waste Connections will pick up their bins that same week after your weekly service.
