On Aug. 18, the Town will begin a reclamite pavement rejuvenation, which will treat some of Superior's roads with a product to restore the pavement and extend the life of the roadways.

The Town will treat:

  • Aug. 18 – Rock Creek Parkway from 88th Street to Honey Creek Lane (expect temporary lane closures)
  • Aug. 19 – Coal Creek Crossing and all public streets in Calmante
  • Aug. 20 through 22 – all residential streets in Rock Creek located south of Rock Creek Parkway, west of Indiana Street and North of Coalton Road. Including Heartstrong Street, Eldorado Circle, Eaton Circle, Andrew Drive, etc.

Construction will last approximately five days, with single-lane road closures during construction. Residents who live in the impacted area are asked to please turn their irrigation systems off when the work occurs. Impacted residents will receive a door hanger from the contractor prior to construction and 'no parking' signs will be posted in the street at least 24-hours before treatment begins.

What is Reclamite Pavement Rejuvenation? And why do it?

Reclamite is sprayed onto the pavement surface and can extend the road's life five to seven years, reducing the need for costly roadway reconstruction. It is applied in one pass and has a 20-45 minute cure time, leaving no surface coating.

Following application, a light coating of sand screening is applied to prevent the roadway surface from being too slick and to dry up any remaining compound. The sand is swept up the day after application.

This project is part of the Town staff's continuous effort to find cost-effective opportunities to improve overall street maintenance and extend the useful life of Town roads. Reclamite has been used successfully in nearby cities, such as Lakewood and Boulder, for over a decade.
