Homeowners planning a rebuild may qualify for rebates on energy-efficient and electrification upgrades, while all Boulder County homeowners and renters can access funding for wildfire-mitigation improvements.

1. Colorado Energy Office Home Electrification Rebate

  • Rebate: Up to $10,000 for electrification projects
  • Eligibility: Homes permitted on or before April 30, 2025
  • Deadline: Submit certificate of occupancy and rebate application by April 30, 2026
  • Details: Incentives support homeowners who are upgrading to energy-efficient, electric-powered systems such as heat pumps, induction stoves, and electric water heaters.

2. Xcel Energy Efficiency Incentives

  • Rebate: Between $7,500 and $37,500, depending on building standards
  • Eligibility: Homes permitted on or before June 30, 2025

  • Details: Supports a range of energy-saving building improvements, including high-efficiency insulation, windows, and HVAC systems.

3. Boulder County Wildfire Mitigation Rebate

  • Rebate: Up to $500 for specific wildfire mitigation actions
  • Eligibility: Homeowners or renters in Boulder County
  • Deadline: Application October 8, 2026; all work must be completed by October 29, 2026
  • Details: Encourages six key fire-safe actions: remove juniper, replace fences, clear debris, install noncombustible materials around homes, add vent screens, and replace lower siding.
