Free trees for residents at May 31 giveaway

The PLAY Foundation Tree Trust, the Town of Superior, and the Arbor Day Foundation are hosting a Free Tree Giveaway on Saturday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Autrey Park in Superior (1830 Honey Creek Drive). A total of 175 trees — in 5-, 10- and 15-gallon sizes — will be available. Twelve varieties will be offered, including:

Young cherry tree in a 10-gallon pot
  • Sensation Maple
  • Emerald City Tulip Tree
  • Thinleaf Alder
  • Mountain Avenue Sweetgum
  • Dolgo Crabapple
  • Seven-Son Flower
  • Canada Red Chokecherry
  • Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry
  • Colorado Orange Apple
  • Sweet Sixteen Apple
  • Norland Apple
  • Bali Cherry

If you would like to pre-register to receive a free tree, please email the Tree Trust Program Manager, Mike Reichert, for more details. Otherwise, trees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
