Another week of fun is ahead at the Superior Community Center!

Read the SCC update below to stay in the know about all things SCC, including announcements, events, programs for all ages, summer camps and more!

Join us at the SCC this week for a BBQ and live music on the 4th of July after the parade and pancake breakfast as well as other community events like Open Mic Night, Chat with the Chief, and more!


Announcements

The Superior Community Center will have modified hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 4 for the Fourth of July holiday.

Stop by for live music and BBQ from noon to 3 p.m.

Featured Programs

Denver Dance Authority Pre-K Acrobatics & Tumbling (Ages 3-5): 5 to 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday from July 8 to July 29 ($90) Pre-k students of Superior will have the opportunity to learn tumbling skills on a 33' inflatable tumble track. Students will learn to do a number of skills including handstands, dive rolls, backbends, cartwheels and much more.

Denver Dance Authority Beginner Acrobatics & Tumbling (Ages 5-8): 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday from July 8 to July 29 ($90) This high energy, fun class is for kids ages 5-8 who are interested in athletic tricks! Students will perform acrobatic and tumbling skills on a 33' inflatable tumble track, where they will learn to flip, fly, and fall safely. Skills focused on in this level are dive rolls, cartwheels, handsprings, and aerials.

Indian Cooking Class (5+) 6 to 7:30 p.m. on July 11 ($60) Join Chef Akila in learning these restaurant worthy dishes from scratch!

Ven Pongal: a comfort food made using pressure cooked rice & moong dal and seasoned with ginger, cumin, curry leaves and black pepper tempered in ghee.

Hotel Sambar: Pigeon peas cooked with pearl onions and a freshly made spice blend.


Summer Camps

Createry Summer Camp: #Swifty: (Ages 6-12):12:30 to 3:30 p.m. every weekday from July 21 to 25 ($295): If you love all things Taylor Swift, then this is the camp for you! We will create all things #Swifty, friendship bracelets, a groovy guitar, paintings based on the eras tour and don't forget the disco ball! We will enjoy of full week of creative expression all while listing to our favorite music.

Createry Summer Camp: #Truckin: (Ages 6-12): 9 a.m. to noon every weekday from July 28 to Aug. 1 ($295): Be a food truck, boutique truck or business of your choice truck entrepreneur! In this camp we will plan, create and design our very own business truck! We will begin with a premade cardboard truck, then create a design plan to make your business using your own personal style. Each day will focus on a different area of the business, and at the end of the week, your business will be ready to roll!

Createry Summer Camp: Raining Cats & Dogs: (Ages 6-12) 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. every weekday from July 28 to Aug. 1 ($295): Join us for Raining Cats and Dogs! Camp and create art that is dog-gone funny, and furtastic! Whether you love purring kitties or barking dogs, each day will be a new animal adventure using different materials and supplies from paint, clay, collage and more!

Snapology Summer Camp: Jedi Robotics: (Ages 6-12): 9 a.m. to noon every weekday from July 21 to 25 ($225): Robotics inspired by Star Wars and space travel! Come on an adventure, building and programming functional robots using LEGO bricks in this super-fun program. Learn about space, space travel, and, of course, Star Wars! Build different robots each day!

Snapology Summer Camp: Mining & Building: (Ages 5-12): 1-4 p.m. every weekday from July 21 to 25 ($225): Travel to the Nether with Snapology-but watch out for those creepers! Come join us as we bring Minecraft to life using LEGO bricks. Create your own world, including animals, creepers and your very own LEGO Minecraft character! Please note, this is a hands-on program that does not involve playing the game on screens.

Cheer, Poms, & Tumbling Clinic: (Ages 12-16): 3 to 6 p.m. every weekday from July 23 to 25 ($150): Learn the fundamentals of Poms, Dance, Cheer and Tumbling or get some extra practice before your school tryouts this year. This is a three-day clinic where teens will learn and practice dance that is geared towards cheer and poms routines. Tumbling skills and tricks will also be instructed. The clinic culminates in a choreographed routine.


Civic Space

We're excited to announce that Superior's new Civic Space is officially open for the community to use! With room for about 400 people, it’s perfect for working, relaxing, or hosting small events. Residents can rent it for $150/hour and enjoy access to the main event area, a conference room, lobby, and available equipment.
