You must be an existing business electric and/or retail gas customer of Xcel Energy in Colorado. Additional requirements may apply. To earn rebates, you must purchase and install qualifying equipment.

HVAC and Refrigeration Rebates:

Business Lighting:

When you make the switch to energy-efficient lighting, like advanced lighting controls systems or energy efficient light fixtures and bulbs, it can drive long-term energy and cost savings to your bottom line. Foodservice:

Energy efficient equipment for new food service construction or to replace aging equipment can cut kitchen energy costs - all while making significant contributions to a cleaner environment and improving your bottom line. Xcel's food service equipment rebates for high-efficiency equipment upgrades can offset the initial cost of new equipment purchases. Clean Water Pumps:

Whether you want to upgrade your existing pumps or have a need for a new installation, our rebates can help reduce the cost of your energy-saving project. Xcel offers rebates from $100 to $11,140 depending on the hp of the energy-efficient clean water pumps for invoices dated April 1, 2021 or later. Commercial Refrigeration:

Refrigeration systems can be the main consumer of energy use in facilities such as grocery, liquor and convenience stores. Making energy-efficient improvements can reduce your facility’s operating costs while increasing efficiency. Xcel Energy offers rebates on qualifying refrigeration upgrades you choose to make. Cooling Efficiency: 

Whether you want to upgrade your entire cooling system or just specific components, Xcel's cooling rebates can help lower your up-front costs and speed up the payback period of your energy-saving project. Heating Efficiency:

Compressed Air:

PACE offers rebates to help businesses convert to energy-efficient equipment and equipment powered by clean electricity. We also work with property owners interested in future-proofing their commercial buildings by weatherizing and installing heat pump technologies. Heating and Cooling

Rebates for heat pumps, recovery ventilators, evaporative pre-coiling, electric boilers, and more. 

• Standard Rebates: 50% of costs, up to $20,000

 Hot Water

Rebates for commercial heat pump water heaters and electrical resistance water heaters. 

• Standard Rebates: 50% of costs, limit $10,000

Building Electrification and Infrastructure

Rebates for engineering design and electric infrastructure upgrades. 

• Standard Rebates: 50% of costs

Restaurant and Grocery Equipment 

Rebates for ice machines, dishwashers, ovens, refrigerators and freezers, induction cooktops, and more. 

• Standard Rebates: 50% of costs

Custom Rebates 

All Boulder County businesses can participate in a custom rebate program for energy efficiency measures that are not part of the existing prescriptive rebate program. All rebates approved by the utility’s custom rebate program are eligible for a one for one rebate match, subject to PACE’s general rebate caps and conditions.

The custom efficiency rebates promote electric and natural gas reduction and require pre-approval prior to purchase/installation of equipment. Project submissions are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.

Examples of potential custom rebate measures:

Advanced lighting controls, high efficiency heat pumps, heat recovery and reuse, chiller upgrades, building automation systems, compressed air equipment and system upgrades, refrigeration compressor and condenser upgrade, variable frequency drive installations on fans, pumps, or other variable loads.

Any business within the Town of Superior can receive a $650 instant rebate towards new commercial recycling or composting services by submitting a rebate coupon directly to the participating service provider. Businesses may apply for the Zero Waste Coupon within 1 year of signing up for new recycling and/or composting services. Rebates are on a first come first serve basis while funding lasts.

To claim the incentive, businesses must commit to a minimum of one year of new recycling or composting services and fill out this brief Zero Waste Coupons for Businesses form. Boulder County’s Resource Conservation Division will follow up with you directly and provide the coupon that you can submit to your hauler.

Looking for ways to lower your business's energy costs? Through Xcel Energy's Commercial Streamlined Assessment program, eligible businesses can receive a free or low-cost energy assessment performed by CLEAResult engineers. The assessment reviews your major equipment, including lighting, HVAC, water heating, commercial refrigeration, food service equipment, compressed air, and motors, and identifies upgrades that can save energy. Many of these upgrades qualify for Xcel Energy rebates.

Businesses with a peak demand under 100 kW may also qualify for direct installation of free energy-saving products, such as LED tube lighting.

The support continues after the assessment. CLEAResult can connect you with participating contractors, help you review bids to choose the project that best fits your needs while maximizing rebates, and assist with rebate paperwork, all at no cost to you.

The Superior Green Business Microgrant Program encourages businesses to be creative with their ideas while enabling them to take steps toward sustainability that mutually benefit local businesses, the community, and the environment.

The Town of Superior has $5,000 to award each year. Projects can be a minimum of $200, up to a maximum of $2500.  This is a reimbursement-based grant program. Awarded funds can be stacked with existing  Xcel business programs and rebates and Boulder County PACE programs and rebates.  

The Town is looking for new projects that go above and beyond your existing business offerings that help further the following sustainability goals for our community:  

• Sustainable transportation alternatives
• Water conservation
• Waste reduction
• Energy Efficiency
• Renewable Energy
• Resilient and healthy ecosystems
• Community-facing engagement in climate and environmental improvements
