Are you a bird lover? You won't want to miss the Town of Superior's inaugural World Migratory Bird Day celebration on May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at Purple Park (1310 S. Pitkin Ave.).

Enjoy interactive booths, learn how to advocate for bird-friendly practices, and celebrate the Town's new Bird City Colorado designation at this free event hosted by the Open Space Advisory Committee.

Plus, join event volunteers and your neighbors for a bird walk around several of Superior's ponds to explore local bird species and their habitats.

Event schedule:

  • 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. - Bird walk led by Dave Sutherland from Environment of the Americas
  • 10:30 a.m. - Bird City Colorado certificate presentation
  • 11 to 11:45 a.m. - Bird walk led by Peter Ruprecht from Superior's Raptor Monitoring Program
