Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting

Oct.15

PARC’s discussion items included attendance for the remaining PARC meetings of the year, and into 2026 to ensure adequate quorum. The committee planned the next park walk through of Miners Park in advance of the Nov. 19 meeting, and reviewed TOS 2026 Budget to help with drafting PARC’s 2026 Work Plan, which will be finalized at the November meeting.  Staff provided updates on the SCC front desk redesign, the timeline for Design Concept’s evaluation of the condition of TOS parks throughout town, and will have updated pool plans that should be ready for PARC’s November meeting.

Historical Commission Meeting

Oct. 17

The Historical Commission meeting on Oct. 17 covered many vital subjects as we near the end of 2015. Much was devoted to developing ideas for interpretive signs including QR codes linking the viewer with the Town web site providing additional information. We also spent time learning more about our collections management plan. We also debriefed our many recent projects including the museum openings Oct. 4, work day at the Asti Museum Oct. 10 and the Fall Educational Program. The Right Relations interpretive display was well received and the evening program on Boulder County relationships with Native Americans was well attended and received. Plans were also made for opening the historic cemetery on Nov. 1 correlating with Veterans activities in November.
