In the May Cultural Arts and Public Spaces (CAPS) Committee meeting, the committee began by hearing from staff on calendar and content deadlines, as well as an update on landscaping around Coyote/Hawk. The committee then briefly heard about the photo walk activity from May 10, as well as the next two upcoming events: a drum circle in Purple Park on June 8, and a stained glass workshop on June 21. The committee then held an extensive discussion about the group's general priorities moving forward, which facilitated a discussion on the desired 2026 budget and work plan. Three shorter discussion items were then addressed: the potential acceptance of the Kupfner crane, the prospect of adding one or more Noble Wins benches to the collection, and artwork and cost updates for the mural design for the Rock Creek Parkway tunnel. Finally, the committee reviewed the upcoming Rainworks installation and ideas for digital content for the Civic Space grand opening event.
