During the OSAC May 14 meeting, a presentation on the 2024 Harney Lastoka Open Space Goat Impact Summary was provided from the Butterfly Pavilion Community Habitats Coordinator, Madeline Barr. The findings include the types of native and introduced plant coverage as well as plants considered noxious in the state of Colorado. The goats are coming back this summer! Town Staff will update the calendar soon with dates for goat experience opportunities. OSAC discussed steps to implement the Coyote Ridge Open Space Management Plan. OSAC is planning an effort to begin naming the trails within the town. The committee talked about OSAC's position on Town 15. For 10+ years, the committee has advocated that this town-owned parcel be re-zoned as open space natural. The June 9 Town Council agenda includes rezoning the parcel as open space recreational. OSAC members will attend the June 3rd Planning Commission meeting and the June 9 Town Council meeting to share OSAC's perspective. OSAC is excited to host the Town of Superior’s Inaugural World Migratory Bird Day on May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at Purple Park. National Trails Day is coming up on June 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Coalton Trailhead.
