Project Updates

Rock Creek Parkway Construction

Concrete repair of sidewalks and curbs along Rock Creek Parkway from S Indiana St. to S 88th St. has completed. Beginning Saturday, May 16, the south half of Rock Creek Parkway between S. Indiana St. to S. 88th St. is scheduled to be closed for approximately 16 working days for roadway reconstruction. The project includes fly-ash treatment of the road subgrade to reduce soil swell and installation of new pavement. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the north side of the road, and cyclists will be moved onto the sidewalk through the work zone. Please note the following traffic impacts during this phase of construction:

  • No through vehicle traffic or bike/pedestrian crossing will be permitted at Coal Creek Drive.
  • No through vehicle traffic will be permitted at S Indiana St.; however, cyclists and pedestrians will be able to cross on the West side of the S Indiana St. intersection.

The Town requests that only local traffic use Rock Creek Parkway during construction. All other traffic is encouraged to use Coalton Road and McCaslin Blvd. as detour routes while closures are in effect. Traffic speeds will be reduced to 25 MPH and fines doubled in construction zones. For phasing plans and approximate closure dates, please visit the Town’s Town Project page. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we complete these roadway improvements and work to reopen the road as quickly as possible.

North & South Pools

Construction contracts for the North and South Pool renovation projects were awarded to A.D. Miller Construction at the May 11 Town Council meeting. Both pools will remain open for the 2026 regular swim season, with North Pool closing approximately two weeks earlier than usual to accommodate the construction schedule. Construction is anticipated to begin on North Pool on Aug. 24, 2026, followed by South Pool on Sept. 8, 2026. Construction on both pools is scheduled to be complete before the start of the 2027 swim season.

Town-wide Concrete Repairs

Concrete repairs within public right-of-way will start this week. These repairs will be completed primarily in residential areas throughout Superior as crews repair broken or failing sections of concrete to include sidewalks, curb and gutter, and concrete pans. During construction there may be temporary sidewalk or lane closures. Please contact Superior Public Works with any questions.
