Transportation Safety Committee Meeting

March 31

During the TSC meeting this week the committee reviewed a number of transportation items. The committee received updates on both the Vision Zero Action Plan as well as the Transportation Plan. The committee reviewed transportation safety work completed in 2024 as well as the Town of Superior crash data for all of 2024. The committee discussed the W Torreys Peak Traffic Calming application, and staff plans to install a new pedestrian crossing roadway sign in W Torreys Peak near Mica Court. The committee discussed the upcoming Sycamore Street Paving Project and recommended reducing the speed limit on Sycamore Street to 25 MPH. The committee also discussed possible painting/striping improvements that could be made to reduce speeds on Sycamore Street. Finally, the committee discussed speed and red-light cameras and possible implementation in Superior. More data is to be gathered on speed and red-light cameras before any recommendations are taken to the Town Council.  You can find the video of the TSC meeting on the Town’s website here.

Superior Youth Leadership Council Meeting

April 2

In this meeting, Town of Superior Council members hosted a Q&A with SYLC members. For the second half of the meeting, the council briefly discussed upcoming events like the kickball tournament and Parents Night Out. Not much planning was needed for these two events, though the council formed a committee for kickball, mainly for marketing. The council also polled for National Trails Day volunteers, more details are listed in the notes.
