Town Council Work Session

April 7

During Monday’s Town Council Work Session, the Council: heard a presentation and held a discussion regarding the Town budget; discussed economic development strategies; discussed conducting an employee survey; discussed Town holiday lighting; and discussed Council/staff communications.


Open Space Advisory Committee Meeting

April 9

During the April 9, 2025, OSAC Meeting members continued planning for upcoming events. Arbor Day is on April 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at Purple Park. Migratory Bird Day is on May 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at Purple Park. National Trails Day is on June 7 from 9 a.m. noon at the Coalton Trailhead. OSAC members will meet with the Town Council on April 14 starting at 6 p.m. to introduce key open space concerns and focus areas. Specific topics will include land acquisition, staff & resources, management of current open space, wildlife & habitat preservation efforts and budget constraints. OSAC is continuing the work on the Open Space Management plan. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in surveys beginning Arbor Day through National Trails Day. As part of the rodenticide campaign, residents will be encouraged to consider alternatives to using poisons that have ramifications for wildlife up the food chain and which are additionally harmful to children and pets. Upcoming Town publications in the PROS newsletters, the Sentinel and social media posts will provide suggestions. Residents are encouraged to attend the following open space programs: Owl Prowl on April 11 starting at 7:15 p.m. at the Community Park Basketball Courts, Nature Journaling on April 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at Oerman Roche Trailhead, kids’ fishing clinic on May 14 from 9 a.m. noon (ages 16-17 needs a fishing license) at Purple Park. Registration is open via Town of Superior Catalog.


Advisory Committee for Environmental Sustainability Meeting

April 10

Staff provided an update on a newly awarded grant to help create a roadmap for non-functional turf removal, a contract for compost education, the status of the new disposal services and the next round of the solar co-op with Boulder County. Council member Kaaoush talked about the latest Consortium of Communities meeting. The Town Council has started discussions about the 2026 budget and ACES will be making recommendations to Staff regarding the sustainability budget. The group brainstormed ideas on what might be included in the budget next year. It was agreed that ACES will finalize their budget recommendations at the May meeting. The group then developed an agenda for the upcoming meeting between ACES and the Town Council scheduled for April 28.
