Last year, the Town paused parking enforcement in Downtown Superior in response to feedback from residents and businesses about the self-reporting system that was implemented.
As more businesses open their doors Downtown, demand for parking along Main Street continues to increase. To help ensure parking turnover for businesses, the Town will resume enforcement of Main Street parking restrictions this week. Enforcement will transition over the rest of July with warnings for infractions to provide visitors time to adjust to the resumed standards.
Self-reported parking through a phone app is no longer required to enjoy Downtown parking!
The Town has contracted with a parking management vendor, Parkwell, who will conduct checks on Main Street and issue warnings to those parked past the 2-hour limit. On Aug. 1, Parkwell will begin issuing citations for vehicles exceeding the current 2-hour time limit along Main Street.
Enforcement staff utilize digital chalking software to monitor parked vehicles on Main Street. The system automatically notes how long a vehicle has been in a specific spot and alerts staff when the time-limit standard is violated.
Time-limited parking on Main Street represents a small portion of the available parking Downtown. Two shaded parking garages are available for public use, one just West of the Superior Civic Space (2250 Main St.), and the other North of the Blue Sport Stable, behind the Superior Medical Center.
Combined with parking lots located at Superior Commons and around the heart of Downtown, there are hundreds of individual parking spaces available that do not currently share Main Street's parking time constraints.
Make sure to follow posted signage in these areas, as some have time-of-day limitations or restrictions on things like overnight parking.
Please review the Downtown Superior Parking Map to find available parking and visit the Downtown Superior Parking webpage for more useful Downtown Superior Parking information.
We look forward to your next visit Downtown!
