Superior Sustainability Newsletter: Sept.-Oct. 2025

Published on September 22, 2025

Welcome to the start of Autumn! As the temperatures drop, a home energy audit or incentives on insulation or a new heating system can help make sure your home is as cozy as possible.

We also hope you made it out to the past summer market "Every Scrap Matters Experience", our fun campaign designed to encourage all of us to get excited about composting. If you were not able to attend, be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, October 18 when we will be at Superior Summer Market: Fall Fest!

As always, thanks for being a part of making Superior a sustainable, resilient, and vibrant community.

Every Scrap Matters brings magic to Fall Fest

A person in a banana costume talks with guests at a booth a the Summer Market event.

We’re bringing the (compost) magic to Superior Summer Market: Fall Fest on October 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition to all the other great happenings of the event, including a performance by local musicians Jeff & Paige, our booth will have opportunities to win prizes, learn more about composting, receive cool swag and be dazzled by our magician, Miss Peel!

Here is what you can look forward to:

  • Win a $100 Gift Card: Think you're a composting pro? Compete in the Every Scrap Matters Challenge for the fastest time, and you'll win a $100 gift card to a local Superior restaurant of your choice! Yum!
  • Magic: Your kids might know this one, but have you ever seen what happens when a banana peel goes through the composting cycle? What if that banana peel was also a magician? You should just come see it for yourself!
  • Free Kitchen Compost Pails: Be one of the first to arrive at our pop-up events and correctly answer a compost trivia question to receive a free kitchen compost pail for your kitchen, while supplies last. Come early to snag yours!
