Spring Snowstorm

Published on May 05, 2026

Update: Town offices will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, due to the ongoing snowstorm.

The National Weather Service's forecast for the Denver/Boulder area shows accumulating snow with at least 4-5 inches expected. Tree damage and scattered power outages are now likely, and a widespread hard freeze is expected Wednesday night.

A few things you can do:

  • Prep for outages from heavy snow on leafed-out trees: charge devices, find flashlights, and move vehicles out from under large limbs if you can
  • Protect pipes: disconnect hoses, shut off sprinklers, and keep your thermostat at 60 or higher
  • Plan travel: avoid unnecessary trips tonight and Wednesday morning, and check cotrip.org if you need to drive
  • Bring pets indoors
  • Wet snow is heavy to shovel, so take breaks and check on neighbors
