Rock Creek Parkway traffic shifts on May 16 due to construction

Published on May 14, 2026

Rock Creek Parkway traffic will shift on Saturday, May 16, as construction on the road moves into its next phase.

While crews reconstruct and pave the road from Indiana Street to the 88th Street roundabout, the eastbound lanes of Rock Creek Parkway will be closed. The south side of the intersections at Rock Creek Parkway and Indiana Street and Rock Creek Parkway and Coal Creek Drive will also be closed to traffic.

During this time, the north side of the road will accommodate two-way traffic.

Additional impacts include:

  • Pedestrians and cyclists can cross on the west side of the intersection at Indiana Street and Rock Creek Parkway.
  • No pedestrian and bike crossing will be allowed at Coal Creek Drive or the west side of the 88th Street roundabout.
  • During school hours, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office will help direct pedestrians, cars, and bikes at the Indiana Street and Heartstrong Street intersection.

The map below depicts what residents can expect. Please be aware that this stage of the project is expected to take about 16 working days.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility while this work occurs! Please email Public Works and Utilities Civil Engineer Christine Katz with any questions or concerns.
