Join the Town's Youth Steward program this summer!

The Town is offering a Youth Steward program this summer, very similar to the Boulder County Youth Corps program. Positions are open for Youth Stewards (14-17) and a Youth Steward Leader (21+).

Youth Steward

This is a part-time seasonal position from June 16 to July 31. This position will operate Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with flexible days for events and holidays. The Youth Steward will be at least 14 years of age but not older than 17 by June 16, 2025.

A Superior Youth Steward is a caretaker of the Town's parks, open space trails and facilities. Youth Stewards work under the general supervision of the Steward Leader and may work independently with Town staff and volunteers. Work is generally physical in nature and in an outdoor setting. Youth Stewards are responsible for their own transportation to and from the work site each day. All work locations will be within the Town of Superior and will change throughout the course of the summer.

Hiring pay for this position is $16.55 hourly. Accepting only online applications until June 1.

Youth Steward Leader

This is a part-time seasonal position from June 9 to Aug. 8. This position will operate Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.

The Steward Leader is expected to manage the Youth Steward program and be responsible for planning projects, equipment and supply lists and supervision of youth workers, and daily reports.

The Youth Steward Leader will be at least 21 years of age by June 16, 2025. They are responsible for management of the Youth Steward program and team including training, supervision, and evaluation of Youth Stewards, and, project administration.

Steward Leaders will undergo a background check and a motor vehicle background check, and must be certified in First Aid and CPR. Since they will be transporting equipment and supplies, the Steward Leader must have a valid driver’s license.

Hiring range for this position is $23.25 to $25 hourly. Accepting only online applications until June 1.
