Ready to travel back in time without leaving town? Both historic museums in Superior will open their doors on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visit the Asti Park Historical Museum (110 W. Maple St.) to learn about the community’s mining heritage and life in the mine camp houses.

Then walk over to the Grasso Park Interim Historical Museum (122 E. William St.) to explore Superior’s agricultural roots through photographs, objects and artifacts.

Members of the Historical Commission will be on hand to share stories and answer questions. Don’t miss this chance to connect with Superior’s history firsthand!

Don't miss the Annual Historic Walk after!

Join the Superior Historical Commission on May 2 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. starting at Grasso Park (100 E. William St.) for the annual Historic Walk to the Industrial Mine site. This free event will provide a unique opportunity to experience Superior as it was 100 years ago, offering a fresh perspective on the town and its fascinating past.

The walk begins at Grasso Park and stops at two key historical sites within Boulder County Open Space. Stand on the site of the original mine shaft, where miners descended 265 feet underground to mine coal, and see the foundations of the miners' humble homes.

Participants should prepare for a walk of at least 2 miles and wear appropriate shoes and clothing for varying terrain and weather. Be sure to bring your own hydration for the journey!
