It's a great week to visit the Superior Community Center! From toddler classes to senior programs, the SCC has something for everyone. Scroll down to read about all the exciting things we have going on at the SCC this week!

Join Superior Town Council members and fellow residents at the SCC for a casual conversation in an informal setting to discuss current topics relating to the Town.

JAMMIN' Feud Logo

Friday, Sept. 5
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Four rounds of feud-style trivia. Teams go head to head, and the two top-scoring teams battle it out in a championship round. There's no cost to play and a lot of fun to be had!

A good, old-fashioned jam session at the SCC open to all musicians and listeners! All ages and all skill levels welcome. Come play a tune or come and sing along!

Curious about SCC classes but haven’t tried them yet? Attend the Superior Sampler for a chance to try interactive demonstrations of our classes, meet the teachers, and enjoy food and drink from Vento Coffee. We will have programs for all ages, so bring the whole family!

Jump, Shout, Get Your Wiggles Out! (6m to 4 yrs) 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. every Thursday from Sept. 4 to 25 ($20): Join us for a fun and interactive free-play experience for little ones! Parents and caregivers can connect while their kiddos explore cushioned mats, play with musical toys, and make new friends. It's a playful way to jump, shout, and get wiggles out before nap time and share smiles with others in the community!

Artificial Intelligence - Everyday Applications (All ages) Friday, Sept. 5 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. (Free): An introductory AI talk for the curious, concerned, or confused. We'll look at practical uses like editing text, generating images, and simplifying legal language, plus concerns about the environment, safety, and copyright.

Reset & Reconnect (18+) Sept. 5 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. ($20): This class is for those ready to reconnect and stop running on autopilot. We’ll explore meditation, energy awareness, and self-reflection to help reset your nervous system and feel more like yourself. Whether facing stress, burnout, or seeking more, this space lets you slow down, listen inward, and build self-trust. No experience needed; just bring curiosity and an open mind.

Art After Hours: (18+) Friday, Sept. 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. ($45) A relaxed painting class for adults looking to slow down, explore creativity, and reconnect with themselves. Unlike traditional art classes, this space focuses on the process, not the product. It’s a chance to unplug, breathe, and express without pressure, fostering growth and connection.

Baby & Me Art (1yr 6m to 3 yrs 11m) 9 to 10 a.m. every Friday from Sept. 5 to Sept. 26 ($105): A playful, hands-on art class that nurtures creativity and connection. Grown-ups and little ones explore texture, color, and movement through guided activities. No pressure, just joyful mess-making and creative bonding. Parents also pick up simple art techniques to use at home.

Youth Film Labs Noon to 1 p.m. every Saturday from Sept. 6 to Nov. 15 ($300):
Elementary Film Lab (9-11 yrs)
Middle School Film Lab (12-14 yrs)
This educational series introduces kids to filmmaking, covering storyboarding, filming, and editing. Designed for elementary and middle school students, it offers hands-on learning to inspire excitement about movie-making.

Senior Book Club (60+) Sept. 11 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. (Free): Love books? So do we! Join us for a lively book discussion where stories come alive through conversation. Whether you're a casual reader or a lit lover, it's a welcoming space to share ideas and hear new perspectives.

Senior Phone Photography (55+) Sept. 10 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. (Free): Join a welcoming group of seniors who love capturing life with their smartphone cameras. No fancy gear needed, just your phone and curiosity. Learn simple tips for lighting, composition, and editing, and discover easy ways to organize and share your photos.

Impact Fitness - Senior Yoga: (50+): 10 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday from Sept. 2-23 ($60): Mindful Flow is a form of Hatha yoga, uniting the physical postures in sync with your breath, allowing you to connect one to another seamlessly. This class is designed to be accessible for beginners and people of all fitness levels.

Superior Civic Space

We're excited to announce that the new Superior Civic Space is officially open for the community to use! With room for about 400 people, it’s perfect for working, relaxing, or hosting small events. Residents can rent it for $150/hour and enjoy access to the main event area, a conference room, lobby, and available equipment.

Upcoming Events at the Superior Civic Space

Createry - SteAm Homeschoolers: (Ages 5-11) 1 to 2:30 p.m. every Monday from Sept 8-24 ($108) If you homeschool your kiddos, we have a great opportunity for you! On Monday afternoons in September, Createry Workshop is teaching a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) class for homeschool families at the Superior Civic Space. Please register now to secure your spot.
