Stay bear aware, Superior! Residents have spotted a young bear roaming through town over the past few days.

If you see the bear, please call the Boulder County Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at 303-441-4444 to report the sighting. Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has been informed of the situation and will relocate the bear once the location is confirmed.

If you cross paths with the bear, CPW has compiled some tips to ensure your safety:

Remember that you should never approach bears (or any other wild animals!) or offer them food.
If you see a bear, please watch from a safe distance.
Stand still, stay calm, and wait for the bear to leave.
Be sure the bear has an escape route, and never run or climb a tree to get away.
