Colorado’s climate is changing, and the impacts are being felt everywhere, including in Superior. Local governments have the ability to address climate change and the challenges it poses in an efficient manner. Climate efforts across towns and cities result in a combined impact of reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, cleaner air and a healthier community.
The Town of Superior Sustainability Action Plan(PDF, 10MB) includes strategies to minimize community-wide greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for and adapt to on going impacts of climate change. The Town has already taken action towards reducing GHG emissions by transitioning 100% of its municipal buildings to renewable energy via a subscription to Xcel Energy’s Windsource.
Superior is a member of Colorado Communities for Climate Action (CC4CA), a coalition of counties and municipalities advocating for strong state and federal climate policy and a member of Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI).
