Annual Student Art Show

In partnership with Superior Elementary School (SES) and Eldorado PK-8 (Eldo). The collaborative efforts of art teachers Tim Posey (SES) and Christa Moore (Eldo) resulted in over 40 artworks on display.

Superior Travel SNAPS

May 23 – September 29, 2025

About the exhibit

Superior Travel SNAPS was an open competition photo contest for Superior residents of all ages and skill level, including residents displaced by the Marshall Fire. For this SNAPS competition, residents submitted photos of their adventures, either near or far.

There were over 50 entries and 25 finalists were chosen to be in the exhibit. We hope you enjoy the adventurous, creative, zany, poetic, hilarious, and happy series of photos! The 2025 SNAP exhibit is “in the books”!

About the exhibit 

"In My Orbit" features a sampling of Andrew’s photographs that highlight the people and places closest to his heart. Most of the images feature a unique perspective of the Sun -- the star that binds us all into the same orbit.

Andrew Vaughan has been a Superior resident since late 2013 and a member of the Town’s Cultural Arts and Public Spaces (CAPS) committee since early 2023. When not out on local adventures with his wife and three school-aged children, Andrew is either stalking the Superior sunset with his camera or working at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory navigating spacecraft between the planets.

Louisville Art Association's "SUPERIOR VOLUNTEERS"

About the exhibit 

Louisville Art Association (LAA) is a 200-plus member nonprofit organization that has been enriching the communities of Boulder County for the past 44 years with classes, workshops, exhibitions, shows and more. The Superior Volunteers exhibit was created to honor LAA’s most dedicated current volunteers, the ones who have devoted countless hours of time and effort on behalf of their fellow members and to our arts community.

About the exhibit

The Superior Pet SNAPS exhibit is currently on display at the Superior Community Center (1500 Coalton Road). For this year’s annual SNAPS competition, the theme was “pets” and residents submitted over 160 entries and 56 were juried into the exhibit. Be sure to check out the zany, adorable, and in-action pet photos through Sept. 30!

 


Local artist present the Plein Air Art Exhibit

Jan. 5, 2024, through March 29, 2024

About the Exhibit - The Cultural Arts and Public Spaces Advisory Committee (CAPS) hosted the Plein Air Painting Festival last fall and the paintings created by local artists will be displayed at the Superior Community Center (SCC). Residents are invited to attend the Opening Reception at the SCC on Jan. 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to enjoy light refreshments, live music and a chance to meet the artists.

"Aura" by Superior Artist Nikita Kataria

Oct. 2, 2023, through Jan. 2, 2024

About the Exhibit - "Aura" is a series of oil paintings that focus on spiritual devotion and impressions of growing up in a colorful country of rich diversity and emotionality. Superior artist Nikita Kataria enjoys painting with oil on canvas to create abstract and modern illustrations of the impressions and thoughts she has from growing up in India.


Superior SNAPS Annual Resident Photo Competition

About the Exhibit - The first annual juried photo competition for residents featuring the beauty of the Town of Superior community.

A Lens on Superior’s Past

September through December, 2022

About the Exhibit - Presented by the Superior Historical Commission, the exhibit at the Superior Community Center is a collection of black and white reproduction photographs depicting life in Superior during the coal mining era. Miners, families and a small handful of businesses thrived in the area now referred to as Original Town.

History in the Making: Snapshots of Superior

July, 2021, through March, 2022

About the Exhibit - Residents were invited to apply to participate in an historic photography project that encapsulated the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic by collecting stories and photographs of Superior residents. Roughly 25 photos were displayed at the Superior Community Center while all 80 from the project were published in a book.
