With drought, extreme heat, and fire crews already stretched thin by wildfires across Colorado, the Town of Superior has reinstated Stage 1 Fire Restrictions ahead of the Fourth of July, in conjunction with Boulder County, which enacted Stage 1 restrictions for the eastern plains and Stage 2 for the western mountains, effective at noon on Tuesday, June 30.
Personal fireworks, including sparklers, fountains and other ground-based fireworks, are currently prohibited. As a reminder, personal fireworks that explode or leave the ground are never allowed in Superior, regardless of fire restrictions.
Stage 1 restrictions prohibit:

Igniting, building, maintaining or using a fire, including campfires, stoves, barbecues, grills and lanterns that burn wood, pressed logs, briquettes, pellets or charcoal

Sale, use and possession of fireworks

Recreational shooting, except lawful hunting

Smoking, except in enclosed vehicles or buildings, U.S. Forest Service developed recreation sites, on private property, or within cleared areas at least 10 feet in diameter

Operating a chainsaw or other gas‑powered equipment

Welding, grinding or operating acetylene or other torch with open flame, except within cleared area at least 10 feet in diameter

Using explosives, including fuses, blasting caps, rockets, exploding targets, tracers and incendiary ammunition

Open Burning as defined in Ordinance 2023-1, including broadcast or pile burning
-
Violating any state law concerning burning or fires
