Outdoor emergency warning sirens in Superior will be tested this morning (Monday, May 4) at 10 a.m.
This test is part of Boulder County's new year-round monthly testing schedule of its outdoor emergency warning sirens. The county will conduct these tests on the first Monday of the month at 10 a.m.
Please be aware that there are two sirens in Town, one located in Superior's Community Park and the other in Original Town on Coal Creek Drive. The outdoor emergency sirens are designed to alert people who are outside in nearby areas and are not intended to be heard indoors.
Because of this, it is crucial to build redundancy into your plan and ensure you're signed up to receive emergency notifications. You can sign up for emergency alerts at BocoAlert.org.
If you block, screen messages, or have your phone on silent, consider adding 303-441-1400 as a contact. You can name the contact "Emergency Alert" and enable this number to get through.
Community members are also encouraged to review their personal emergency plans and be prepared to respond to hazards such as flash floods or other emergencies. For more information about preparedness and training opportunities, visit SuperiorColorado.gov/ready and/or BoulderODM.gov.
