Superior's outdoor emergency warning sirens will be tested at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3.
The test is part of Boulder County's new year-round monthly testing schedule. The county will test outdoor emergency warning sirens on the first Monday of each month at 10 a.m.
Superior has two outdoor emergency warning sirens, one at Community Park and one in Original Town on Coal Creek Drive. The sirens are designed to alert people who are outdoors in nearby areas during an emergency. They are not intended to be heard indoors.
Because the sirens are intended for people outdoors, it is important to receive emergency alerts in multiple ways. Sign up for emergency notifications at BocoAlert.org.
If you block unknown callers, screen calls, or keep your phone on silent, consider adding 303-441-1400 to your contacts as "Emergency Alert" and allow calls from that number to bypass your phone's silence or screening settings.
