Flor Pond maintenance begins Nov. 4

Published on November 03, 2026

Flor Pond, located in Community Park Open Space, is a large detention pond that collects stormwater, reduces downstream flooding, and helps keep local waterways clean. Like all detention ponds, it requires periodic maintenance to continue functioning properly.

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 4, the Mile High Flood District (MHFD) will conduct maintenance on Flor Pond, including cattail removal and depth measurements. This work is critical for the pond to continue functioning properly and may take up to eight weeks.
