This is your source for updated information regarding work on public roads in Superior. Updates will be posted here informing residents and visitors of construction progress and closure dates for affected streets and neighborhoods.
Please email us if you would like to receive electronic notification on road construction projects, affected streets, lane restrictions and closures.
Current Road Closures
Temporary lane shifts will be in place as needed on Marshall Road between Center Drive and 76th Ave for westbound traffic through the summer for the construction of a hard surface multi-use path along the south side of US 36 between the eastbound McCaslin BRT Station and the Davidson Mesa underpass. Through traffic will not be affected during this time. Bicyclists are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Coal Creek Drive to 76th Ave in order to bypass the construction zone.
2019 Street Rehabilitation Project
The 2019 Street Rehabilitation Project will begin this summer. This includes repairing Coalton Road between Rock Creek Parkway and Indiana Street.
The project will be constructed this summer, and major work elements should be substantially complete by the mid-September. This project will entail periodic lane closures and lane shifts on Coalton Road. Portions of Coalton will be reconstructed in phases with the eastbound lanes closed during construction, with traffic shifted to the westbound lanes with one-lane open in each direction. Once the eastbound lanes are reconstructed, traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes (one lane in each direction) while the westbound lanes are reconstructed. In addition to the repairs on Coalton there will be a mill & overlay of a 300 ft segment of McCaslin near High Plains Dr, construction of a trailhead parking lot off of McCaslin Blvd south of Original Town, expansion and paving of the Autrey Park parking lot, and crack sealing on various high volume roadways throughout the Town. The project is expected to be substantially complete by mid-October. At least one access will be maintained to all businesses along Coalton Rd at all times. Updates will be provided on this webpage and through e-blasts.
Work on Coalton Road between Rock Creek Parkway and Indian Street will begin on Monday, July 8th, weather permitting, and will consist of three phases. The first phase of construction will involve the closure of the eastbound lanes of Coalton Road and the shift of eastbound traffic on to one westbound lane. The business exit between Starbucks and the former Land Rover Flatirons building will be closed during this phase. The business entrance & exit on Rock Creek Circle will be unaffected by this work. This phase of construction is tentatively expected to take approximately 6 weeks. Upon completion of this phase, all traffic on Coalton Road will be shifted to the newly opened eastbound lane and the business exit from Starbucks onto Coalton Road will be restored.
