Rover Ready Workshop

The workshop features two hours of presentations, offering valuable insights on dog training for disaster preparedness, the Red Cross Pet Champion Program, HOPE Therapy Dogs, Pet Help & Rescue App, and medical preparation for pets in emergencies.

Business Preparedness

This training was presented to a national business group's disaster response team with local operations in Superior, Colorado. Led by Superior’s Disaster Recovery Manager Allison James, it highlights key steps businesses can take before and after disasters—risk assessment, continuity planning, insurance review, and evacuation protocols. The session emphasized community engagement, trauma-informed care, and public-private collaboration to support resilience and recovery.

Program 1 - Living with Fire

Local fire and land managers discuss response strategies, prescribed fire treatments, weather requirements, and what it means to live in a fire adapted landscape.

Program 2 - Grasslands Fuels and Management 

Researchers from CU Boulder and Front Range municipalities are studying grassland fuels and mitigation methods like grazing, burning, and mowing. Their goal is to understand how these methods impact plant diversity, soil health, and fire risk. By combining field observations, experimental management, and fire behavior modeling, they aim to identify the most effective strategies for maintaining healthy grasslands and reducing fire hazards.
